Mentor Training
Last month I took 8 dynamic leaders through a day-long mentor training. I think they’re catching the vision of multiplication: some of them led each other into profound healing experiences during the training! The future of the church is in good hands with these influential leaders. I can’t wait to see how they continue to put this training into practice.
Every Good Thing Must Come To An End – Finale Comments
Each year I have to say goodbye to some mentorees who I’ve come to love. Our final meeting is a celebration of all that God has done. Here are some things this year’s graduates shared about how they’ve grown:
- I realized that God made me unique for a reason and I don’t have to try to be someone I’m not.
- I never knew how much my childhood traumas impacted my life as an adult until I started this journey. Past traumas were hindering me without me even realizing it. Being mentored helped me tap into those dark places and bring light to them.
- I always thought there was more impact in being on stage than in simply having a cup of coffee with a college student. This experience helped me realized that Jesus was more impactful one-on-one (and in a small group) than with the masses.
- I have increased self-awareness, more grace toward myself, and a better understanding of what radical honesty is with God and myself.
- I’m less conflict averse, I more easily apologize, and I have an increased sense of freedom to use my voice.
- I’m noticing and experiencing God in my daily life, and I’m letting his love fill me and cover me in all moments.
- I’ve learned by example how to listen with grace, and I’ve learned by example how to pray – slow down, pause to sense God’s presence, talk to God openly about everything, and simply be with God.
- I have an increased ability to be vulnerable, and have discovered that vulnerability is the key to feeling love.
- I have brought meditation into my daily routine, which is allowing me to stay grounded and filled with gratitude.
- I’m learning my relationship with God can look and be different than others.
- I’ve been able to enjoy and experience my emotions, including love. I’m really feeling love and not blocking it out.
- Through this process I have been able to get more clarity. For the first time in my life I feel like I am exactly where I am supposed to be. This feeling is amazing!
How Can You Help?
This year we invested in 26 influential leaders who are doing a wide range of helpful, loving activities in the world, based on their own unique redemptive purposes, passions, and leadings. All the things that are happening are because of your generous participation in the work of the Lord.
If you haven’t already, you can help by joining my support team and investing in these young leaders through financial support and prayer. Contributions are tax deductible and life-changing.
Every penny will help!
Happy Thanksgiving!
