With Jesus no one is invisible
We believe no one should be invisible and everyone should have access to food, freedom, and forgiveness.

One faithful step at a time, that’s what it took. One faith-filled step, without knowing where it would lead.
A number of year ago, Dave Cooper, a Legacy Shepherding Ministries, Inc. alum who now currently serves on the Board of Directors for this ministry, was invited to share his life story with the staff at the church where he works, as a way for them to get to know him better. Dave felt prompted to show a side of himself the staff wasn’t aware of – his creative side. Just one small prompting. Would he be faithful and take it?
Thankfully, yes! Dave shared his story at an all-staff meeting via a spoken word rap performance. The staff was amazed.
That one step of faithfulness opened the door to another step. Not long after his initial performance, Dave was asked to share his spoken word rap story in front of the whole church – a church of around 5,000 people. That step opened up opportunities to write and perform other spoken word segments for various church services and events. Each step faithfully taken opened doors to another step.
Most recently, because he took each step that was presented to him, Dave was approached by International Teams to write and perform a video for their ministry. I think it has an important message for today, and it is so beautifully written, performed, and filmed.
In doing the video, Dave got a small taste of what it might be like to be a homeless man in Chicago. Dressed the part, people wouldn’t give him eye contact or they would look at him distastefully. In one scene he stood still in one spot for around 15 minutes, while people walked by ignoring him (shown in fast motion speed). All day, no one commented on his sign that read, “Do You See Me?”
For his next side project, Dave was asked to star in a short film, where he will spread his acting wings.
Where is all this leading? Only God knows. But each faithful step is opening doors and bringing Dave more of the abundant life Jesus came to give him.
Is there a step God might be putting on your heart that you need to faithfully take? A step that may bring more love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control into the world (the fruit of the Spirit of God in Galatians 6:22-23a)?
I frequently encourage people to take whatever step they sense God leading them to take, even if they don’t know where it will lead and even if it doesn’t bring them immediate acknowledgment or riches. Often our life path is laid out only one faithful step at a time.
I hope you enjoy Dave’s faithful step.
Blessings on your journey,
Randy
