Blocks and Barriers Illustration on Video:
Last September, I had the privilege of being part of a Mentor Training class at Mission Church in Roselle. The staff made a video of each session. Here is a clip of me sharing one mentoring tool I sometimes use in the work I do. I hope you’ll take some time after watching it to identify some of your own blocks and barriers to receiving love and letting love flow freely.
Note: It’s so hard for me to see myself on video and hear my voice the way others probably hear it and see me all the time. Hopefully, we can all look past me.
Over time, I will probably share more clips as they become available to me…if I can stand it!

Enjoy Lent – a time of preparation:
I read an article recently about Pope Francis encouraging people, as they choose a meaningful thing for them to fast from during Lent, to choose something that truly enriches others. He recommended fasting from indifference toward others.
“No act of virtue can be great if it is not followed by advantage to others. So, no matter how much time you spend fasting, no matter how much you sleep on a hard floor and eat ashes and sigh continually, if you do no good to others, you do nothing great.” – John Chrysostom (an early Christian mystic)
As you live out your disciplines of abstinence (what you’ll give up) and engagement (what you’ll actively do) this Lenten season, I hope you are drawn into deeper loving union with your heavenly Father, Jesus your Christ, and your Holy Spirit; and that the world beyond you somehow benefits as well.
In His Love,
Randy
You did a great job in the video! Way to go!! Great visual as well. I love what the Pope said about Lent – so glad you shared that as well. I’ll be thinking about that one this season!
Randy!
Thank you for teaching us that very simple yet so profound tool of mentoring. I often prayed that same prayer but you brought it to another level for me. Thank you also for sharing from the Pope’s message. BTW, you did a great job teaching. I am sure many were challenged and blessed by your presence.
Randy!!!!!!! . You have a radiant smile; a gentle and soothing voice; and a loving demeanor. That’s
what I see and hear, dear friend.
