Mentoring in the NFL:
Mentoring in the NFL? Is Legacy Shepherding Ministries, Inc. expanding into the NFL?
I’m not sure what God’s up to. Back in August of 2013, I began meeting with a young man, named TJ Moe, who had recently been signed with the New England Patriots as a wide receiver. TJ had been a star at the University of Missouri. He had three of the top times in the 2013 Combine, as well as the most bench press reps of any wide receiver. The Patriots signed him soon after. Things were looking bright.
Then, unfortunately, TJ tore his Achilles tendon during the Patriot’s pre-season training. He spent the entire past year doing rehab on his body.
One positive outcome of this unfortunate circumstance was that being side-lined this past year provided TJ the time and space to work not only on his body, but also on his soul and inner world.
What is TJ Doing Now?
TJ was recently signed by the St. Louis Rams. Tonight he leaves for the Ram’s training camp. Hopefully, this time he will be able to fulfill his dream and make the team. It would be fun to see him out on the field.
Perhaps, at some later date, we’ll hear directly from TJ about what God has been doing in his life through our investment in him. Stay tuned. Go Rams! (Except when you play against Da Bears!)
Africa Adoption:
For many years, Andrea and her husband, Mark, felt led to adopt a child from Africa. They sensed the Lord specifically placing the country of Uganda on their hearts.
It has been a long journey for them, filled with endless paperwork, waiting, more paperwork, tears, spending over nine weeks in Uganda, and now finally, after almost four years they have brought home their son, Joshua.
Please pray for them as they all adjust to their new life together as a family.
With parents like these and all that went into bringing Joshua here, I wonder who this boy may end up being and what special plan God may have for him. No pressure, Joshua! Stay tuned. Go Uganda! (Except when you play against the U.S.!)
Dan Working for the WCA:
Dan recently took another faithful step in his journey of audaciously following God. This past month, he transitioned from being a high school biology teacher to working for the Willow Creek Association, helping to encourage, train, equip, and support church leaders throughout the world. Congratulations, Dan!
Where might this all lead? We’ll find out. Stay tuned. Go Dan! (Except when you play against me in anything!)
Thank You:
Thank you for the impact you are having on all of these people through your prayers and through your financially support of this ministry.
Please continue to pray for them…and this ministry.
In His Love,
Randy
