I recently received some exciting news:  Legacy Shepherding Ministries, Inc. is now an enrolled organization in Thrivent Choice!  And you may be able to help Legacy Shepherding receive a contribution.

What is Thrivent Choice?
Thrivent Choice is a charitable grant program that allows eligible members of Thrivent Financial to recommend where Thrivent Financial distributes part of its charitable outreach grant funds each year.

What is Thrivent Financial?
Thrivent Financial is a not-for-profit, Fortune 500 financial services membership organization that helps people achieve financial security (mainly through insurance and investments), that also allows them to give back to their communities.  As a not-for-profit organization, Thrivent Financial donates millions of dollars each year to charitable organizations.

How Much Do They Give Away?
In 2012, $50 million funds were distributed to over 20,600 churches and non-profit organizations.  In 2013, $49 million was distributed to over 26,785 churches and organizations.  How cool is that?!!

What Can I Do To Help Thrivent Decide Where To Donate Their Money?
Through the Thrivent Choice Dollars program, eligible members of Thrivent Financial can recommend where Thrivent distributes part of its charitable funds each year.

What that means is that if any of you are members of Thrivent Financial who have Choice Dollars, you can now designate your Choice Dollars to Legacy Shepherding Ministries Inc. (if you want to).  It doesn’t cost you anything.  Thrivent is going to give the money away either way.  Your Choice Dollars just help them decide where to send some of the money.  Hopefully some of those millions will get sent to Legacy Shepherding Ministries in 2014!  🙂

Choice Dollars for 2013 must be directed to an organization by March 31, 2014.  That’s why I’m sending this out now, because Legacy Shepherding Ministries just got enrolled and you have to designate your Choice Dollars by the end of this month.  It might be too late this time around, but please keep Legacy Shepherding Ministries, Inc. in mind when you next direct your Choice Dollars.
