Randy’s March, 2013 Update:
Shout Out to U.S. Cellular:
U.S. Cellular, a telecommunications company, has a matching contribution plan whereby the company matches any charitable contributions made by their employees, including contributions made to faith based organizations like Legacy Shepherding Ministries, Inc.
Fortunately for this ministry, one of Legacy Shepherding’s supporter’s works for U.S. Cellular. At the end of the year, the supporter called me up and told me about the possibility of a matching contribution. Just recently, for the first time in the ministry’s history, a corporation matched a supporter’s contribution! How cool is that? To honor them, I felt that U.S. Cellular deserved a public shout out for having such a generous policy.
It was an unexpected year-end blessing in 2012.
If you are looking for a new provider, maybe check them out. According to Consumer Reports, I believe U.S. Cellular is ranked the number 1 service provider in the Chicagoland area.
My House Is Getting a Face Lift:
When I first moved into my house, the previous owner’s had just finished redecorating. I basically left everything as it was, aside from some painting. Twenty-five years later, still without changing much, things were looking a bit dated, as you can imagine – old wall paper, a country kitchen, linoleum tiles curling up at the edges, some tiles popping loose all together, and well worn carpet in a coral color I never really loved to begin with.
Well, at long last I am doing something about it. My house is currently getting an interior paint job, thanks to family and friends. It will soon also be getting some new tile in the kitchen, dining area and entryway, which I had put money aside for prior to stepping out into full-time ministry. Throughout the rest of the house, underneath the twenty-five year old coral colored carpeting, which is now more of a dirty-beige, are hardwood floors. I’m going to have the nasty carpets taken out and have the hardwood floors refinished. I think it should look great when it is all completed.
In the meantime, my house is in a state of constant disarray, making it more challenging to do my normal routines, including writing my updates.
So this update is going to be a bit briefer. Here are some of the before and during shots. I’ll try to update you when it is all finished. Enjoy!

Thank You:
Thank you for everything you do to help this ministry succeed and thrive. When God finishes preparing the mansion He has for you in heaven, I’m sure it will blow away any updates I could ever achieve on my earthly house, and when we fully see what God’s policy is on giving and blessing, I’m sure we will see that He not only matched but extravagantly outmatched any contributions any of us ever made…including U.S. Cellular.
In His Love,
Randy
